Morgan Gabriel D’Arcy is a classical pianist, a British Lord and a vampire.  He has everything–except Isabeau.

For centuries, he has cherished a dream—a race of immortal crossbreeds possessing vampire strength and human morals.  Ambition is not his only motivation.  Love is. When Isabeau, his chosen bride, was a child, he appeared to her as an angel and watched over her.  As the Angel Gabriel predicted, Isabeau is now a brilliant geneticist.  She has come of age, and Morgan is ready to marry her.  However, many forces oppose them, not the least of which is Vampyre law.  Mating between the human and Vampyre is prohibited–for a very good reason.

An enemy from Morgan’s distant past is stalking him. Paul D’Alembert seeks eye-for-an-eye justice, intending to kill Isabeau as once Morgan killed his beloved.   In fact, his enemies are rapidly closing in on them.  Will Morgan have time and an opportunity to make his dream come true—to sire a child on Isabeau?  Will he outsmart his enemies, protect her and escape death himself?  For the first time in eternity, the clock is ticking.

Sinners’ Opera contracted today by Double Dragon Publishing!  This is a special book for me, and I’m delighted to see Morgan “on stage.”

Black Swan, elizabethan, evernight publishing, fantasy romance, paranormal romance, renaissance faires, romance, shannan albright, were creatures, were panthers

What is your greatest temptation:

In men:  Tall, long dark haired with blue eyes oh, and if he has a Scottish or Irish brogue that’s even harder to resist.

In food:   Cheese Cake

In clothes:  Corsets and coats. I love The Pyramid Collection since they have such wonderfully unique styles.

What is your greatest weakness (example: buying shoes)?  Books.   I’m an avid reader and leaving me in a book store can be a very dangerous thing to my pocketbook. Lol!

If you could have any kind of car, what would it be? A Mini Cooper.

Your dream home – mountains or ocean?  My dream home would be somewhere like the Caribbean. A large home with the beach out my back yard. Oh, yeah and let’s not forget the drinks with the umbrella served by hunky cabana boys. Sigh, If you’re going to dream, dream big!  🙂

What inspired you to become a writer?  I come from a family of very successful artist’s and I’m the only one who reads and writes. Sure I’m also an artist but I wanted to do something different and once I read Gone with the Wind when I was eleven that got me thinking about it. Then at sixteen I read Rosemary Rogers Sweet Savage Love and that was it. I was hooked.

What is your favorite book?  Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon

What is your favorite movie?  Geeze, there are so many! Some of my favorites are All about Eve with Betty Davis. All the Underworld movies and Van Helsing. Love classic horror.

Who is your favorite historical figure?  Queen Elizabeth Regina Tudor 1

I am actually working an outline for my first historical set in Elizabethan times. I have a passion for that time period. I have worked many years as an improve actor at Renaissance Fairs and even played Queen Elizabeth once. I can speak the vernacular with the best of them. Shakespeare move over. Lol! I also studied the time in depth in College and would love to put all of my useless knowledge of those times into it.

In your books, who is your favorite hero and please introduce him?  Tegan Murin was one of my hardest characters to put down on paper. He turned out to be my favorite also. He reminds me Bones in the old Star Trek series with his crankiness, but he is also loyal, intelligent and sexy as hell. He is also the Dark Breed’s doctor. Oh, and he’s a Were-Panther so yeah, most cats can be contrary and he’s no exception. Did I mention he is tall dark and sexy? Lol!

What do you have out now?  Excerpt, blurb, book trailers

I released the second Dark Breeds novel in February.

Blurb:

Tegan Murin has his hands full these days. Feral attacks are increasing, targeting humans, and now he is ordered to find and destroy a deadly artifact known as Oman’s Seal, deal with his estranged step-father and find a missing archaeologist. He’s a bit irritable. Add into the mix a recurring dream of one sexy seductress leading him to his death… well, you get one very pissed off were-panther.

Kyra Navarone is more than what she seems. Escaping from the Ferals who captured her, she ends up running into a brooding, irritating man who makes her blood run hot just with one look. Her life depends on the betrayal of this compelling man, but how can she live with herself afterward?

More than their lives hang in the balance. In order to survive they must learn to trust one another before the world they know and the one hidden beneath the waves are destroyed forever.

Excerpt:

His gaze caught once again on her face as she stopped at arm’s length away from him. Her eyes, he noted slanted up at an exotic angle enhancing a heart shaped face. Her nose was small, straight with a small upturn at the tip and her lips, Gods those lips were made for a man to kiss! Full and pale pink, he had the sudden urge to see if they were as soft and lush as they looked.

“You are different from the others,” she stated it as fact in a husky voice, filling his mind with all kinds of lecherous ideas.

“Yeah, I’ve been accused of that before,” he replied giving her a slow smile.

Her arched brows angled down in a frown. “No, I mean I think you are here for me.”

“Any other time, sweetheart, but this is hardly the place for a conversation. We need to get out of here fast before some real bad guys come back here.”

“Yes, it is not safe here. You must go,” she agreed turning to head back into the forest.

He quickly grabbed her arm turning her to face him. “Whoa there, no way am I leaving you alone, lady. Come on. Let’s get out of here.”

She pulled back from him. Her voice brushed over him like velvet, yet her words rang with steel. “I am quite capable of taking care of myself. Just get out of here now. I will not be the cause of more deaths.”

“I know how to handle myself, so don’t worry your pretty little head about it,” he purred, giving her his best seductive smile.

He watched those gorgeous eyes narrow with irritation at him. “My pretty little head? You just didn’t say that to me did you? Of course you didn’t. Because if you did that would mean I was dealing with a real imbecile. No, I take that back. I would be talking to a chauvinistic, egomaniacal jerk who had the IQ of a rock.”

“Wow, a rock huh?” His eyes narrowed, all thoughts sexual dissolving in an instant, “Who the hell are you, lady?” He felt his temper rise, never a good sign when his cat prowled just under his skin.. “I’ve been called worse things in my life, and though I would love to stand here and argue with you, I just don’t have that kind of time, so if you don’t mind, move your ass.”

“I have never met a more disagreeable person in all of my life,” she huffed.

“That life will be very short and painful if we don’t get the hell out of her. Now!”

“I just so happen to know this area very well and I don’t need to be saved,” she snapped back at his abruptness. Moving swiftly away from the burning bodies and out to the main path. They walked for some time in a strained silence stretching between them, tension spiking between them until she blurted out the first thing that came to mind. “Are you always this… exasperating?”

“Baby, that’s my middle name,” he drawled. “Now get that pretty little ass moving.”

“Do you have to use such base language? Honestly, it shows a lack of intelligence.” she grumbled as he marched her out of the settlement to a small overgrown trail.

“Didn’t your mama ever tell you it’s dangerous to judge a book by its cover? It may just take your head off,” he advised dryly picking up the pace. “By the way, do you have a name or should I just call you pain in the ass?”

“Anyone ever tell you you’re a jerk?”

“Every minute of every day.” He chuckled. “Your name?”

She huffed out an irritated breath. “I am Doctor Navarone, Kyra to my friends, which by the way you are not.”

New releases anytime soon?  I hope to see a summer release of the second novella of my Knights of Excalibur series, quickly followed by the third and final short novel in this series.

ImageOn the days I offered Night Before Doomsday free at Amazon, I actually got in the top 50 with George R.R. Martin!!  To celebrate being that close to a great, I’m hosting another contest.  I’m offering a Black Swan t-shirt and 2 refrigerator magnets:  1 with the sigil of Azazel (star of Night Before Doomsday) and a Black Swan (a spicy vampire story) cover.  I could be persuaded to throw in an autographed cover flat.

Here’s an excerpt and link for Night Before Doomsday.  http://www.amazon.com/Night-Before-Doomsday-ebook/dp/B005YFBX0M/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1333671480&sr=1-1

Excerpt:

One spring night I picked my way down a slippery path and found Ruth bathing in a moonlit lake. The sight took my breath away, and the song taking shape in my mind fled.

“Golden Azazel descends to his humble servant.”  Ruth twined her arms above her head, her wet, succulent breasts gleaming in the moonlight.

She forged into shallower water. Excellent night vision bared what the lake would have hidden.  The dark curls at her mound drew my gaze.

I averted my eyes. “I’ll leave you to your peaceful ablutions,” but anticipation rooted my feet to the sand.  She’ll come to me…I was certain.  I turned, placing my wings between me and temptation.

“Ho, Azazel!”

I angled my body so that I could see her.  Beckoning, she strode through the lake, shedding her mantle of water to stand naked on the beach.  Moonlight traced lush curves and the ivory globes of her breasts.  I could almost taste the rosy, pebbled nipples.  Wet hair streamed to her small waist.  My breath hitched.  My heart raced, pumping blood to the shaft tenting my robe.  Guilt plucked at my nerves, but I couldn’t look away.

Magdalene waited for me.  I should leave before trouble closed the distance between us.  My feet refused to move.  Enchanted, I stared at the feline huntress.  I might have conceived this sensual work of art, my own hands molding from river clay that perfect feminine shape.  A thudding awareness of the power she’d been born with, and that lust had given her, held me prisoner.  Then Magdalene’s face flashed before my eyes, turning me toward home.

Deep, throaty laughter mocked me.  “You’re afraid of me, Mighty Archangel.”

I spun to face her. “I am not afraid of you, Ruth.”

“Oh?” Her arms glided around my shoulders, her fingers massaging tense muscles.

She snuggled her face against my wings, her hands stroking the tender underside.  She must know that caressing my wings fired lust.  Which of my brothers was Ruth’s lover?

“Bad Ruth,” she purred, “Azazel is a married man.”

I held her back from me.  “I’m not a man. I’m an angel.”

“A fallen angel.”

Shame and anger jerked me free of her hot embrace.  “Mind your tongue.”

She teased my nose with a feather that had fallen from my wing.  “You committed the Original Sin.”

“The Original Sin was Disobedience.”

Her eyebrows flickered, her expression mocking.  “Did you not disobey when you took Magdalene into your bed?”

The truth tore a gasp from me.  Angels are the Word made manifest.  The Word no longer spoke in me.  I had betrayed divine trust.

She rubbed her arms.  “Your eyes burn my skin.  I’ve made you angry.”  With her hand, she traced my hipbone, her fingers then slid across my thigh.

I caught her hand before she could touch the hard evidence that I wanted her.

“Smite me with your Seraphic sword.”

“Ruth.”  Her name was a plea, a prayer to withstand temptation.

“I’ll never forget the first time I saw you.” She winnowed her fingers through my hair.  “Thick, straight, silky as the gold thread you’ve taught us to spin, your hair spilled over the whitest, grandest wings of all.  I wanted you then.  I want you even more now.  I can make you feel better than you’ve ever felt before.”  A fingertip dotted desire on my lips.  “I promise.”

Ruth made good her promise.  Her body clutched, sucked and milked me dry.  Delirium took me down, down, deeper and deeper.  As a delicious explosion tore me asunder, I cried, “My God, Ruth.”

No, not my God, any more….

PS.  This isn’t a religious story or one about evil.  It is my take on an old, old story that predates recorded history.
